Customized training leads to effective communication

The Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) is a private, non-profit organization responsible for attracting new companies and jobs to the two-state, 18-county region of greater Kansas City. Morningstar Communications provides marketing and communications counsel to KCADC on a variety of projects, from presentation coaching to event and media relations strategies. When the organization needed to train its staff regarding effective presentation delivery, they turned to Morningstar Communications.

We created a customized, half-day presentation training session designed to provide participants with core presentation skills and tips on how to deliver persuasive presentations. Specific topics covered included general advice and tips for public speaking, how to prepare well for a presentation and 10 tips on how to deliver a persuasive presentation. After the half-day session, Morningstar Communications completed customized one-on-one training sessions with each participant to provide specific advice tailored to each person’s day-to-day activites. The combination provided participants with the practical knowledge and skills needed to ensure their presentations effectively communicate to their key audiences.
