Complementing efforts with social media strategy
Youth Entrepreneurs (YE), a non-profit that teaches business skills to high school students in Kansas and Missouri, wanted to increase program awareness and engage its alumni, students, donors and volunteers. Morningstar Communications worked with YE to utilize social media to address those goals.
For example, we implemented a Facebook virtual reunion event, which invited target audiences to share their YE experiences on the YE Facebook fan page. The week-long event was promoted through various channels to reach all target audiences, including Facebook, Twitter, the website, email and word-of-mouth. The virtual reunion resulted in a significant increase in activity and discussion on the fan page. YE’s Facebook fans increased by 52 percent, and wall posts and page views increased dramatically. The virtual reunion also successfully engaged audience members in dialogue about the impact YE had on their lives.
